THE POSITION 

As Motionstrand’s Graphic and Web Designer, your core role and responsibility will be supporting the creative department in all its endeavors throughout the phases of the design process from development hand-off to follow-up. An ideal candidate must be a self-starter who can work independently, but also work well in a team.

You will assist with initial project research on new Motionstrand projects collaborating with your senior team members, working with them on organizing content and project assets. Your responsibilities will vary from assisting to taking the lead on project work that involves wireframing, creating mockups, and laying out design compositions. You will be responsible for articulating new ideas and concepts to your team members and carrying agreed directions forward under the supervision of your lead creative.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designing and presenting responsive mockups in sharable file formats
  • Designing layouts for web pages
  • Processing, optimizing, and exporting assets for developers
  • Graphic creation in vector or raster format
  • Designing custom award-winning websites
  • Sourcing and manipulating stock imagery for custom designs
  • Coordinating with project managers to maintain deliverables and deadlines
  • Occasionally designing print assets

 

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • 2-3 years of proven web and graphic designer experience and a strong portfolio
  • Exceptional design, layout, and multimedia skills using Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong understanding of web fonts, typography, and modern design trends
  • Proficiency in prototyping, visual design, and wireframing tools
  • Experience creating storyboards, wireframes, sitemaps, and user/process flows
  • Robust written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of user-system interaction and visual design skills
  • Project management skills and the ability to manage and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Positive, collaborative, flexible attitude with a desire to achieve effective outcomes
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or a related field
  • A basic understanding of HTML and CSS is a plus
