The Position

The Account Manager position is a client-facing role at Motionstrand, and requires a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to work with a variety of different people, in different roles. You will be responsible for managing multiple accounts and associated projects. You will work closely with internal resources to ensure that there are clear and reasonable expectations for each project that are able to be delivered on time, and on budget.

This role is also responsible for developing and managing client relationships. This includes client communications, project tracking and reporting, scheduling, and reinforcing the Motionstrand brand through internal and client interactions.

You will be responsible for your project teams’ deliverables, which will include the successful execution of client-facing work and will involve multiple projects at one time. Ideally you will enjoy a fast-paced environment filled with colleagues who are equally driven by their commitment to delivering the highest quality solutions to our clients. Context switching is common; being able to set up and manage an effective schedule needs to be blended with the ability to be flexible to team and client needs.

Your proven track record of managing multiple projects, high visibility client and partner accounts, wearing many hats, ability to work fast and smart and ability to adapt and iterate quickly to changing demands are key to your ongoing success – and that of the entire team!


Key Responsibilities

  • Traditional account management (client communication, account planning, invoicing, reporting, strategic consulting, project scoping)
  • Protect and increase the value/revenue stream of existing client relationships.
  • Scope of work development and execution
  • Communicate with clients frequently and in a professional manner.
  • Independently run accounts / projects / status calls / meetings
  • Generate new opportunities / business within existing projects.
  • Drive entire project lifecycle, from project definition through specification, execution, QA and launch.
  • Identify risks and vulnerabilities / create contingency plans / monitor risk levels / drive execution of contingency plans.
  • Identify resources and allocate accordingly, whether financial or human resources required for completing the project successfully.
  • Serve as the project go-to person between clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Constantly align expectations with client, team, and partner agencies
  • Actively communicate with clients around recommendations, risks, challenges, and solutions
  • Coordinate asset handoffs between internal team, clients, contractors, and other agencies.
  • Overall responsibility to define and drive successful client outcomes



  • 5 years professional experience, previous digital agency is a must.
  • Minimum 3 years project experience managing large digital plans and launching start to finish client-facing online / mobile & web products / services.
  • Excellent, consistent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills appropriate for multiple audiences.
  • Ability to juggle many priorities and create a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willing to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary to provide project deliverables and, above all, exceed client expectations.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence versus direct management.
  • A high degree of professionalism, dedication, and initiative.
  • Technical experience in Drupal, WordPress, AWS, DNS, and understanding programming language landscape: PHP, HTML5, and JavaScript.
  • Ability to present ideas and strategies to clients and internal stakeholders.


  • Bachelor’s degree: preferably in Business Management or another related field
  • Industry experience and knowledge of pharma / healthcare and regulatory standards highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of enterprise CMS platforms
  • Demonstrated competence with project management tools.
  • Experience consulting clients on digital strategies (advertising, design, development)
