The Account Manager (AM) position is primarily responsible for identifying, developing and managing client relationships. They are responsible for keeping our most important clients happy. The key to success in this role is to focus and develop long-term relations with strategic accounts. The Account Manager reports directly to the V.P. of Accounts/Sales.

In this client-facing role, you are the ambassador for Motionstrand. It is your job to focus on the customer's pain(s) and offer solutions. Knowledge and mastery of marketing strategy, design best practices, open-source development and problem solving is a must. An ideal candidate will share our desire and commitment to always delivering our best and most forward-thinking work.


  • Traditional Account Management (invoicing, reporting, strategic consulting, proposal writing)
  • Onboarding Support (introduction to the MOS process, project briefs, handoff)
  • Meet with clients to assess their needs and how we at Motionstrand can help them achieve their goals
  • Protect and increase the value/revenue stream of existing client relationships
  • Uncover clients’ unrecognized needs (before they do)
  • Engage clients’ before the client has pinpointed a problem
  • Coach the client about what the best strategy is for solving their problem
  • Increase the value of the relationship through analysis and consultative discussions with internal teams that result in informed recommendations


Skills & Experience:


  • 3+ years of current account management experience
  • Full sales life cycle experience (prospecting, qualifying, presenting, negotiating, closing)
  • Solid track record of meeting and/or exceeding annual sales quotas year after year for the last 3+ years
  • Ability to effectively work independently without day-to-day direction
  • Experience consulting clients on digital strategies (advertising, design, development)
  • Communication, presentation, follow-up, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact and build relationships with a diverse employee population as well as clients
  • Ability to respond to phone calls and emails in a timely manner


  • Bachelor’s degree: preferably in Marketing, Management Business or other related field
  • Technical experience in PHP, Perl, Python, XML, XHTML, ASP/.net coding, or server administration is a plus
  • Working knowledge of enterprise CMS platforms is advantageous
